What is MCM (Flexible Stone)?

GB DECO MCM is finely grounded clay molded into thin sheets with a fibrous net structure to create a lightweight panel.

The manufacturing process involves finely ground clay, modify clay, mixing, storage, moulding, baking with low temperatures (<100 Celsius degree), printing, packaging. The whole indicate and accurate process incorporate the natural clay colors and patterns to replicate the characteristics and textures of natural patterns like stone, wood, brick, fabric and metal.

What types of applications is MCM suitable for?

MCM products are suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, for new construction or renovation projects. They can be used to decorate residential properties, both low-rise and high-rise, commercial buildings, office buildings, public buildings, hospitals or restaurants. They are ideal for areas requiring elegant curved designs, top surface cladding or furniture applications. They can be installed on columns, ceilings and walls among others.

What are the advantages of MCM product?

GB DECO MCM product replaces and transforms traditional stone, tile, wallpaper and solid wood into new limitless forms.

What is the weight and thickness?

MCM in most of their surfaces and textures structure are thin and lightweight. One piece of thinnest series is only 2-3 mm thick and weighing only 3-5 kg/sq.m.

How flexible is MCM product?

MCM product can be installed on curved surfaces or bent within a radius of R20 cm to R40 cm, depending on the thickness of each design.

Is GB DECO MCM a Green Product?

Yes. GB DECO MCM is Non Firing / Non VOC and fire retardant (Fire resistance A2 level).

What sizes are available for MCM?

The size of MCM is from small to large sheet. The main sizes are 6x24cm, 60x120 cm, 120x240 cm, 120x280cm and 120x300cm.

Since MCM is made from natural materials, will it degrade over time with prolonged use?

It will not degrade and will last with proper care. Testing report proves that life duration of MCM products in exterior application is more than 30 years.

How should it be installed? What adhesive is recommended for installation?

We recommend using ceramic tile adhesive. Use high-adhesion types, such as gray cement adhesive for indoor areas and gold bag cement adhesive for outdoor areas.

Try to choose those with low alkali formula to prevent the later return of alkali problems, and before putting into large construction, a sample adhesion ability test is required to ensure its adaptability

Can it be installed outdoors? Is it weather-resistant?

For walls, it can be installed both indoors and outdoors. It is durable in all weather conditions. Besides, installation job is not recommended to carry out during raining weather.

How should it be cleaned?

We recommend using water or water mixed with soap for cleaning. Avoid acidic or highly alkaline cleaners and solvents such as nail polish remover, thinner and turpentine.

If adhesive stains the surface of MCM during installation and the adhesive dries on the surface, how can it be cleaned?

Gently wipe the surface with a moist towel to wipe away surface stains.

Due to the unique characteristics of MCM, what precautions should be taken during use?

Avoid dirt, acids, alkalis, scratches.

Generally, we recommend cleaning with water, but how should tough stains be cleaned?

The products are made of natural materials and therefore do not have strong anti-staining properties. Wipe up stains as soon as you notice them on the product.
